Beautiful Consistency

Beautiful Consistency
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

Like the constant breeze that refreshes my cheeks
And the soothing sound of water kissing the beach
Or the hot sun blazing in the summer's heat
Like the constant buzzing of the honey bees

Like the sweet smell of life awakened by spring
That great expectation as winter ceases lingering
Like the first sight of birds as they return to their summer homes
Followed by chirping chicks who will soon spread their wings

The joy and peace that consistency brings
I am reminded of it when I think of these things
For you are the sun, the water and spring
You are that beauty who consistently sings

A Love Like Ours

The thing with love, is that sometimes it leaves you tongue tied...

"A  Love Like Ours"
By: Adrielle R. Bollin

How can I explain a love like ours

That is deep and wide
That is full and empty
It gives and it takes
 It is rich and poor

Utterly human and perfectly divine
Perfect harmony with splitting discord
Poetic and beautiful
Then choppy and uneven

Patient and kind
Intolerant and selfish
Close together and far apart
Like a rubber band or a flexible glue

It is thick and thin
Macro and micro
It's dramatic and then mellow
Passionate as fire and passive as sleep

Frustrating and exhilarating
Deeply knowing and completely missing
Filled with laughter and saturated with tears
Like a Monet and like a photograph

It's nothing I had dreamed yet everything I want

...Yet still you find yourself smiling anyway

A Season Or So Ago

A Season Or So Ago
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

You know I have been in your shoes
I was there for a time in my life too
When I intently and intensely focused in
When I ached for meaning and release from sin

I was there
 A season or so ago

I have danced your dance before
When the world gave all I asked for and more
A time I danced with all the sunshine on me
Once upon a time my smile refused to ever leave

Once upon a time
A season or so ago

And I have cried your tears time and again
You know how they refuse to cease or to mend
When the flood is relentless and never ends
So it creates a river that twists and bends

Yes, I swam that river
A season or so ago

You've been where I am before I'm sure
Wandering the shores of rest and confidence pure
When you know who you are and what you are not
And you refuse to be shoved into any melting pot

You've been where I am
A season or so ago

The Three Brothers

The Three Brothers
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

Struggles and trials mark your road well traveled
A lifelong wrestler with the world  and its gavel
Your beautiful heart often hidden by pain
Yet still you have managed to thrive and to gain

Expressing your love like a silent firework show
Your piercing blue eyes say more than you know
A leader at heart though you take off the cape
But soon you will find it's a role you will shape
Your road has been quiet through mountains and timber
Your gentle brown eyes like the soft snow of winter
The wisdom you gain from whispering hills
Settles your heart, your mind and your will

Yet your laugh and smile is full and rich
You live out your life like it's your last dying wish
Observing the tides of life's ebb and flow
You keep close the secret to your spirit's glow
Your road has been like the hills of Duluth
Your smoldering brown eyes with mischief and truth
You brave the new world with your voice and your tongue
Holding accountable the old and the young

A man with a mission and still much to learn
You take what you can to grow and discern
Your vision gets stronger as experience expands
As with great leaders, your resolve helps you stand
