Compass

 "Compass"
By Adrielle R. Bollin

I came only for selfish gain
But you didn't mind
I was following a lure
But still you are kind

You never let go of me
Though I pull far away
You lure me, draw me, pull me
Make me hear what you would say

Still you dance with me
Whisk me around and around
I remember your affections for me
Your love the most beautiful sound

Always you hug me
And hold me close
Whisper reassurance
As your love you disclose

Amazing and wonderful
Resilient, vibrant and true
You teach agape with patience
Infinitely caring for all I say and do

We're tied to each other
Like a sailor to the sea
As a compass needle returns north
 I'm yours eternally

The Beauty of Fall

Even in the rain and mist and cloudy skies, the beauty of fall is unmistakable.  It's a little early for the full explosion of color, but that will come soon enough.  :)  And since I have writer's block...here's some pictures I took today.

Ode to Summer

Ode To Summer
By Adrielle R. Bollin

Yellow rays beat down on my browning skin
Warming my face as I relax from outside in
The water surrounding laps at my feet
As the soft wind blows and relieves the heat

Not a sound in the air but nature's quiet melody
And the soft low rumble of boats moving restlessly
I breath in the scent of the lake, flowers and grass
And look out sleepily at the sparkling sea of glass

Content as a kitten in a warm patch of sun
Soaking it up, counting blessings one by one
Deep from within me escapes a long sigh
That curves my lips to a satisfied smile

"A New Beginning Again"

"A New Beginning Again"
By: Adrielle R. Bollin

Off to face the bright blue sky
Onward towards a brand new world
My face is lit by the sun's warm rays
The smile of freedom has been unfurled

My heart is dancing in sweet anticipation
My soul carefree and light as a feather
The adventure before me drawing me in
My feet are light as I skip through the heather

The ties are loosed from my spirit now
The chains are gone which held me down
The heavy robes have fallen off my shoulders
Revealing the lightest linen gown

Away from things familiar and drawn
Learning to fight and also to lead
My legs carry me to over and yon
No longer a girl but a woman indeed

Here You Are

"Here You Are"
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

The day has finally dawned
The sun is shining bright
Today will be a good one
You come home to me tonight

My heart is racing faster
Knowing you'll soon be near
Feels like I've waited for hours
As seconds tic-toc my ear

Then here you are
The waiting is over
Take me in your arms
As I cry on your shoulder
I'm so glad you made it home
I am overwhelmed with love
All the joy inside my heart
Is running over like a flood
Here you are

How I ever let you go
Is a mystery to me
I know it was necessary
But it made it hard to breath

In a way you never left
In my heart you always dwelled
But it's never quite the same
As in your arms where I was held

My love I hope you always know
My heart is yours come rain, sun or snow
