A New Year is given And is beginning to be drawn

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read, comment, and encourage me this past year!  It has been one of the greatest pleasures of my year, to get to know those of you whose blogs I've had the pleasure of reading as well as to learn of those who have read my blogs and have both commented and remained silent but appreciative.  May all your lives be filled with abundant joy, thanksgiving, peace, love and prosperity in this new year of 2011!  I look forward to challenging myself to be an even better poet, lyricist and photographer in this new year!

May your head find a soft pillow, And a warm comfortable bed

May the joy of the season, Be aglow on your face

May the whitest of snowflakes, Remind you of amazing grace

May your heart find forgiveness, For all whom you love

May peace e'er surround you, Like a light from above

And joy fill your castle, Like the wise men of yore

Learning of the great tidings, May you never need more

I wish you a Merry Christmas, The best one of all

And that you'd be awed, With the wonder of it all

I Long For Summer

I long for summer

Because I wish For summer's sun

And greener grass To play and run

 To gaze at the glory In every living thing

 And become wrapped up In the beauty summer brings

 Because of the births That do reoccur

 Along with the color That paints the earth

I Miss the season Where warmth is rich

Yes I long for summer While winter attempts to bewitch

 Though I don't like the cold, Or the wind of Jack Frost

Nor the perilous drive, On roads that are glossed

I cannot deny, The beauty I see

On windows and lakes, And the branches of trees

That blanket of white, Which covers the north

 Adds mystery and light, And odd feelings of warmth

For when else do you know, A time such as this

When you snuggle up close, And hug all those you've missed

Motivation

As clear as a cloudless bright blue sky

Certain as the ice cold chill in the winter air

The truth that has been revealed to me

Must provoke, stimulate, drive and dare

I mustn't falter, regret or stand still

I must climb with a sure and calculated aim

Take what I have learned, discovered and found

Use it to the full capacity and for greatest gain

Heart do not despair and soul do not quit

Remember the vision and go ever farther

Follow your instinct that God given wisdom

Hold tight to life lessons and always try harder

Give a great push and light up that fire

Don't settle for less or you ever will ache

Remember your wits and those perilous ruts

Try not to repeat those same old mistakes

Stay true to your core but change your ways

You know what is wrong and why all the falls

Now push yourself forward past all generations

Trust in the Spirit and hear the gentle calls

Never give up and never surrender

Don't let it weigh down your soul's ambition

Though a mighty great feat it is indeed

Keep firm on the road till comes the fruition
