Beat steady and strong
Who gives life and joy
Whose word can prolong
What great wonders

Why do you hide
Where everyone can see
And why give life
And then set all free
Why be generous
With love and grace
And why give mercy
When we turn our face
How do you love
With such open arms
And hold back your anger
When your cherished are harmed
