The Struggle Within

The Struggle Within
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

Like a tree in a hurricane straining in the wind
My heart and mind are racing, fretting as I bend
How much more can I take of this road I'm winding down
Everything I knew left me, seems scattered on the ground
All I taste now are these bitter to and fros
Messing with my mind are the things I used to know
And the blood from my tongue as clench back the curse
I've been trying so hard and it's only getting worse

I need a miracle to break off these chains
I need an answer before I fade away
God you know my frame I can handle so much
There has to be a change, I need only Your touch
You alone can set me on solid ground
You alone can deafen the perilous sounds
So I cry out your name and lay out my fleece
One last push of faith to reclaim your peace

All I have left is to wait for your word
Just one sign of hope, one message delivered
To stir this mirage, these mirrors of deception
Until once again I see You in my reflection
Then you speak and my burdens turn to air
A release of truth drowns my despair
Suddenly the promise rings true in my ears
Life, love, joy, peace and wisdom are again my peers

"Speak"
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

Soft amber beams of light
Bestow a smile in darkest night
No matter the size the trial be
You always lean your heart toward me

When despair has swallowed life
And sight is lost along with might
All I need is to cry out to you
And you restore all I once knew

For when I sing when all seems lost
And rejoice throughout the burning dross
And when I learn to love your time
And patience is grafted like a vine

You rejoice and run with me
Every trial gains victory
And when I speak your words of truth
You usher me to fuller youth

"Not one concern of ours is small,
If we belong to him;
To teach us this, the Lord of all,
Once made the iron swim."
John Newton
1Kings 6:1-7
1 Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “Behold now, the place before you where we are living is too limited for us. 2 Please let us go to the Jordan, and each of us take from there a beam, and let us make a place there for ourselves where we may live.” So he said, “Go.” 3 Then one said, “Please be willing to go with your servants.” And he answered, “I shall go.” 4 So he went with them; and when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees. 5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, “Alas, my master! For it was borrowed.” 6 Then the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And when he showed him the place, he cut off a stick, and threw it in there, and made the iron float. 7 And he said, “Take it up for yourself.” So he put out his hand and took it.

The Greatest Giver

The Greatest Giver
By: Adrielle R. Bollin

The glory of your creation surrounds my being
All that I see is yours for the freeing
Yet all you have given as a gift for my days
To show me your love in extravagant ways

From the mountains on high to the rivers that flow
To the ancient far places to the newest swimming holes
From the jungles and forests to the deserts and plains
The world is your message of provision and grace

Though darkness will fall and cover the earth
You gave us the moon to inspire our mirth
As you wrap us in beauty with a blanket of lights
We 're inspired to reflect your love and shine bright

How greatly you love that you give us all this
Yet still more you provide though betrayed with a kiss
For all of creation could not fill our hungry hearts
So you sent us your son with full passion to impart

And when him we slayed on the cross of your peace
You sent us your ghost to complete the divine three
To instruct, to speak and to help guide our course
So your message of love is spread wide from the source

The Woman At The Well

 The Woman at the Well
By:  Adrie'lle R. Bollin

How is it that you speak to me
When all the rules say that I am unclean
You are holy and purest of love
I am unruly and steady as mud
Yet because of your son you look past what I see
Deep in my heart you find gold finely weaved
So life is your language and joy is your key
Unlocking potential and casting out grief
Slowly you guide my feet to your path
Patiently waiting though I get off track
Walking and talking with me all the while
Relishing each of my laughs and my smiles
John 4:9, 10

The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans)10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

"Encountering"

Like a lake as calm as glass am I,
Still til I hear your voice
Grateful and full of praise am I,
Declaring again my choice
AdrielleRoyale Nature in Photography
The rhythm is forming into song
A slowly building revelation
Then like a touch on the water,
My soul ripples with new jubilation
AdrielleRoyale Nature in Photography
I jump to my feet with a dance
Your holy fire ignites in my bones
Your word pours out of my mouth
And darkness recedes to the unknowns
AdrielleRoyale Nature in Photography
As I celebrate into the night
All evil is gone from my sight
All the troubles I thought I had
Died hard in the perilous fight
