The Colors In Me
By: Adrielle R. Bollin
Blue like the ocean
Like water rushing over me
Renewing my breath
Like the sky vast and free
Red like a rose
Like a roaring fire
Like a sunrise at dawn
Like a fervent prayer
Yellow like the sun
Like energy stored
Bright and shining warmth
Like a joyful reward
Purple like lightening
Like strength next to beauty
A mystery to uncover
Like a sovereign duty
Green like a forest
Like an emerald gleam
A ticket to envy
Like prosperity's steam
Grey like a kitten
Like a soft winter mist
A sweet happy medium
Like an opening fist
Like strength next to beauty
A mystery to uncover
Like a sovereign duty
Green like a forest
Like an emerald gleam
A ticket to envy
Like prosperity's steam
Grey like a kitten
Like a soft winter mist
A sweet happy medium
Like an opening fist
Another beautiful and descriptive poem! Love the words you've used here. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have the rare talent of perfection in words. Keep up the colour, sister !
ReplyDeleteI noted that you concluded with grey because it is like a kitten and is my choice of colors and absolutely the best color that you could end this poem on. There. That is my analysis.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful rainbow of colors and words. Love the blue & yellow especially.
ReplyDeletenice how you brought color into personality traits. Gee, I don't know what mine would be... hee hee. Hope you're doin' great up there in MN. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, you are so full of vibrant shades.
ReplyDeleteJerry, You are so right - the Grey was inspired by you :)
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much! I so appreciate you stopping by!! :)
