"The Dancing Game"
By: Adrielle R. Bollin
Taking steps forward, back and to the side
Dancing, escaping from the label's backside
I've tried on the hats, looked both short and quite tall
But who can I be if I'm no one at all
I picked up the crowns and set them back down
Built up new castles and sewn up new gowns
Yet still I am no one since I choose no profession
I'm topsey and turvey like a nervous confession
Delighting the game as I skirt to and fro
Dodging and diving in the winds and the glow
But soon I am tired with no place to stay
I want to lie down but then couldn't get away
So here in the shadow is where I shall hide
Until I can settle, until I decide
Who will I be, which label accept I
My future it hinges on the wisdom I fly
Beautiful way of expressing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteOh, we all dance that dance from time to time.;)) You have such a poetic mind dear Adrielle.;))

I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up. But always know that the possibilities are endless : )
ReplyDeleteAdrielle, I can so relate to this poem right now. It is as if you stepped inside my head and wrote my thoughts. ((LOL)) I suppose it is comforting to know that I am not the only one struggling with this issue.:) We WILL get there...to that place we are supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteLike LadyCat, I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up. :)
Have a beautiful weekend.

P.S.-Long time!! Where are you?? How have you been? :)
All I have to say is I hope nothing much changes with you. You are a poet, philosopher and photographer.
ReplyDeleteWe all ask, "Where am I supposed to be" and "Is this all there is". I figure you are where you are supposed to be and what else can you ask for.
