I've traveled deserts, been lost at sea

To catch your secrets that were lost to me

I've searched among the highest trees

And ridden on the steady breeze

The words you've whispered in morning lights

Fed my soul as I caught each flight

I've sought you out in the valleys below

Saw your footprints in sands of gold

Always there yet I missed you somehow

The whirlwinds distracting, I crinkled my brow

Turned my head and lost you again

Yet e'er I will seek you my truest of friend

I'm right on the edge to see your splendor

A few more steps your direction to render

Continual presence to which I can surrender

To be in your arms, your favor forever

As I lift up my head to look gaze at the clouds

The beautiful scenery away from the crowds

A quiet place for just you and I

A time to reflect and soak up the sky

I bow my head in prayerful consideration

And see the flowers that are future generations

The trees beside me in unison sway

Offer shade and strength on the lowest days

Everywhere I look I see glimpses of you

Your promises etched in each sunset hue

Your warmth and your love in every scene

Your beauty and grace on the waters serene

You whisper through pines and weep with the rain

Your steady hand guides me round each winding lane

No matter my doubt nor trouble nor storm

I know I can always find you in the creations you form

Ok, I think that these photos I took of our dogs deserve a post all their own, I am so proud of them!  These two handsome gents are our dogs.  The Chocolate Lab is Cody and the Chihuahua (mixed with a 1/4 Terrier) is named Tank.  :)

Like clouds of a different nature ever changing their form

So too are my labors as I attempt to perform

Like chaos in a storm when the wind and rain swirl

So too are my thoughts as I  struggle to unfurl

Such longing to win but too weary to try

I must break this cycle of mediocrity's cry

I mustn't give up but push through this time

I can't fail again, like vapor left far behind

I must push to the end with a well done assured
Cannot keep wondering if I did my best and endured
Like the setting of the sun, I must become a vision
Cut through the sky with a brilliant incision 

So tired of scraping, it's time for the feast
Whatever I have left I'll aim to the rising east
Live out of this world like an eagle soaring high
Get to know the winds that move me and choose where to fly

As light enters in and opens up the heavens

Bringing it's beauty our hearts it does beckon

Exposing the world one foot at a time

Sweetly it whispers and gently it shines

Yet in it's own time it shines with full force

Revealing the truth and obstacle course

Making things known which were hidden before
Allowing veracity and dispelling folklore 

It is then we can walk with steps well assured
When darkness is banned, dispelled and deterred
To see the light is more than a coined phrase
It's a dawning of the mind that can change your ways

Step into the light where the shadows can't play

Rest in the warm glow of the son's loving gaze

Feel the heat of all of heaven's stare

As you walk the fields and breath in earthy air
