Love's Endurance

Love's Endurance
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

Even the best of friends get bored to death together
Can sit in companionable silence on a couch of ruddy leather
Or fight like angry birds defending a family nest
Then come back to the table and lay it all to rest

The sand in the hour glass doesn't stand a chance
When commitment is shared by two people in love's dance
The determination to hold on till the very end
Makes one willing to dig in, hold tight, to mend and bend

No stronger force has ever been matched
Than the power of love when it is true and unlatched
To grow old together is more than an expression
It's a pleasure that's worked for, a constant progression

Even in old age work must be done
To cultivate the prize that is continually won
It's like a garden that you tend from year to year
Pulling out the weeds and making paths clear

Throughout all of history love has been sought
It holds the keys to life's greatest lessons taught
You cannot buy it or sell it in it's truest of forms
It is earned and given from hearts that are warmed

Choosing Love

Choosing Love
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

What a wonderful thing this subject of ages
The journey embarked on by nobles and sages
From presidents and royals to players and fools
None can resist dipping into love's mysterious pools
It harbors safe havens and takes crazy risks
Can harden a heart when things go amiss
It has the capacity to hurt while it heals
It can soften a heart made of fortified steel
It makes lions of cowards and cowards of lions
It changes the world by touching one ion
Love is an action, a choice that you make
To risk nothing at all or to chance a mistake
The ebb and flow of relationship tides
Mean constantly choosing to follow left or go right
When soaring it's easy to fly along together
But sometimes the road is longer than ever
It's then you must choose to walk or persist
To weather the storm, the boredom and mist
To drop what you've worked for like a good bye kiss
Or to reap the reward to work for love's bliss
To be continued...

On Love's Ascent

On Love's Ascent
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

My favorite subject like any poetic soul
Is that of love and how it burns like hot coal
How it soars through the sky and dives deep into deep
How it changes the mind and makes rational folk leap

Into the bliss of the great scary unknown
People will fly as they follow love's cologne
Surrounded by wonders and feeling such highs
The thrill of the chase is replaced with silk ties

Contentment to rest in one lover's arms
Forever seems harmless as she dances and charms
The fog dissipates and your friends and family see
The joy in your face and the lightness in your feet

Then all will know that love left it's mark
The tattoo of the greatest journey embarked
A reminder of joy and the sweetest first kiss
To never let go and of what you would miss

To be continued...

My Beautiful Journey

My Beautiful Journey
By:  Adrielle R. Bollin

My life is beautiful like sunrises in spring
Full of the glory of the earth's great offerings
Relationships rich as a queen's velvet gown
Free as I've ever been like a child spinning round
Through all of my trials I learn and I see
How so very different and yet the same we can be
No journey is matched no path walked the same
Each life is so different from our choices to our name
And so I am driven to e'er greater heights
Wanting the best and needing to fight
For me, Religion and Science have much to prove and say
But experience, Love and perspective have a much stronger sway
